Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Policy Statement

In the course of our business activities, we not only seek to comply with all applicable domestic and international laws and regulations as well as our own rules and procedures, but we endeavour to go above and beyond these obligations. We are committed to responsibly-grounded and transparent business decision-making and activities, which consider the impact on society and the environment.

We endeavour to act professionally, ethically, fairly and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships wherever we operate. In particular, we conduct our activities in accordance with the following ESG principles.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Environmental sustainability is a key value of our business and we commit to:

  • Actively monitoring the environmental impacts and aspects of our office operations and striving to reduce waste generation and resource consumption.
  • Encouraging sub-contracted vessel owners and skippers to minimise their impact on the environment by raising awareness of regulatory requirements and improvement initiatives during vessel inspections and briefings.
  • Committing to the achievement of sustainable fisheries by actively engaging in fisheries-related science and promoting appropriate levels of conservation measures. Our Environmental Policy Statement further details our aims and endeavours in this respect.
  • Supporting the Fishing For Litter scheme to remove litter from the marine environment, with the voluntary collection of plastics, ghost gear and other debris that gathers in fishermen’s nets during normal operations.

SOCIAL

We are dedicated to promoting positive social impacts with a diverse, inclusive workplace and we commit to:

  • Respecting the human rights of all people and actively seeking to avoid causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts within the context of our activities.

  • Requiring suppliers engaged in our operations who use non-UK labour to meet their legal obligations, including the need to prevent acts of modern slavery from occurring.
  • Respecting and supporting the principle of equal opportunities, in accordance with our Equal Opportunities Policy, and opposing all forms of unlawful discrimination.
  • Making our policies and procedures accessible, applicable to all workers, and communicating these clearly.
  • Respecting the rights of workers to join trade unions of their choosing and upholding fair labour practices including safe working conditions, fair compensation and protection of employee rights.
  • Conducting our business in such a way as to seek to protect the health, safety and welfare of our workers, contractors and clients, as well as members of the public who may be affected by our operations.
  • Providing all workers with written contracts and agreed terms and conditions, and providing appropriate holiday leave entitlement, reasonable rest breaks, and access to toilets, rest facilities and drinking water.
  • Providing all workers with appropriate job skills and QHSE training, using an annual plan in addition to an initial training during induction.
  • Engaging workers to help recognise and report suspicious activities through cyber security training.
  • Implementing contractual obligations to encourage supplier alignment with our policies, procedures and requirements.

GOVERNANCE

Good corporate governance is essential for maintaining a financially stable and sustainable business and we commit to:

  • Not engaging parties where due diligence raises cause for concern.

3

  • Accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders on strategy, operations and financial performance.
  • Accountability of senior management for risk and performance management.
  • Allowing workers to raise concerns without fear of retaliation, in accordance with our Grievance and Whistleblowing Policies.
  • Promoting a strong culture of trust, responsibility and best practice around information and complying with all applicable data protection laws in respect of the security of client and other third party data.
