About Us
Heat, acidity, pollution, and human interaction surveys threaten marine life while the global need for energy drives continued offshore activity.
The energy sector works harder than ever to reduce its impact on the marine environment, and we work right alongside them, providing a range of services, including marine mammal monitoring, inshore and offshore survey, planning support, environmental monitoring, and seabed clearance.

Our Story
With a growing market for offshore environmental services, largely driven by the continuing growth of the offshore energy industries, Marine Environmental Solutions was founded in 2019 to bring our successful environmental services to the global energy market.
Through our parent company, SFF Services Limited which has been delivering marine services to offshore industries for over 30 years, we bring a strong track record and will continue to work to the same high standards.

Our Story
We work closely with the offshore wind, oil and gas and subsea cables sectors in the UK, whilst also taking our expertise further afield to Europe, North America, and Australia.
With extensive experience working to industry standards and in the challenging North Sea environment we are well-placed to enter the global environmental services market.

Our Story
Through our parent company, we have access to a range of vessels and personnel for fast mobilisation in UKCS and European waters, allowing us to provide cost-effective services to the energy and other marine industries.
Our clients can be assured that each vessel provided has been through our marine assurance process, which includes being selected by meeting specific criteria, passing a thorough vessel inspection, and being fully briefed before sailing. We also ensure that the selected vessel meets manning levels to ensure that the desired endurance can be carried out safely and in accordance with appropriate legislation. Crew members hold a valid medical certificate and meet mandatory MCA requirements for Basic Safety Training for Fishermen.

Our Story
Our offshore personnel are experienced seafarers with full training and up-to-date certification, including offshore survival training, medical certificate, JNCC approved MMO training and PAM and ADD equipment training.
Our services are supported by 24/7 onshore expertise from our in-house marine coordination team with over 37 years of experience managing projects offshore, keeping operations running safely with minimal disruption and also providing full emergency response capability. This is fully backed up by our mature Quality, Health & Safety and Environment Management System which has successfully achieved ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certification.

Meet the team
Our dedicated team has over 37 years experience in managing a range of vessel projects.

I am responsible for building relationships with offshore marine industries contacts with a view to promoting and marketing the range of services offered by the Company Group as well as overseeing and supporting the company’s operational activities.
In a SFF offshore liaison capacity, involved in regular dialogue/discussion with other users of the sea, government departments, environmental and other marine interests in relation to exploration, development, operational and decommissioning activities around the Scottish coasts to protect the interests of the commercial fishing industry.
I joined SFF Services Limited in 1996.

I joined the Company in 2012 after graduating with a MA and MLitt in Modern History from the University of Aberdeen. I have also completed the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. There’s never a dull moment in the Operations Team and I enjoy the variety of challenges that come our way.

Assisting with the organisation of operational activities to ensure timely completion of client specifications.
I joined SFF Services from Inverurie Academy in 2014 originally in a temporary position as Administration Assistant. Coming from a non-fishing background, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working in and learning about the industry as I have progressed through to my current role. I recently obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management at Robert Gordon University.

I have been involved in the fishing industry for over 35 years, gaining my Certificate of Competency Class II aged 20, and owner and skipper of vessels for over 20 years. I feel fortunate to have worked with the SFF since 2019.

My family has fishing roots dating back decades and my great-grandfather and grandfather owned fishing vessels. Following in their footsteps, I learned the skills to become a skipper, purchasing vessels which I named ‘Daisy’ and ‘Daisy 2’. I sold the vessel in 2015 and utilised my skillset to become a tugboat skipper, whilst qualifying as a marine pilot. The lure of the sea came calling again in 2019 before I accepted a role with SFF in 2023.

I create a range of engaging marketing materials across print, web and socials.
I am a BA (hons) graduate in Design & Craft from Gray’s School of Art at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. I have over 15 years’ experience as a marketing and design professional working in a variety of industries across the UK from large retailers, transport providers, exhibition venues, home builders and now use my skills to promote the Scottish fishing industry.
